Little Pink Houses of Hope is a non-profit organization that serves breast cancer patients and their families propelling families to live stronger, laugh harder and love deeper. The organization provides free week-long vacation retreat experiences for breast cancer patients going through treatment and their families.
The Little Pink’s programming effectively meets families where they are on their journey and provides support for each family member as well as for the unit as a whole. Little Pink responds to the needs of breast cancer survivors so that they can focus on strengthening their family; by spending quality time as a family unit, by meeting other families in the same health condition, and by creating an ongoing support network. Little Pink provides opportunities for families to de-stress from the rigor of appointments and cancer treatments.
Little Pink is headquartered in Burlington, North Carolina and is governed by an 11-member Board of Directors, comprised of members of the local community.

Part Time Program Assistant
Little Pink Houses of Hope is looking for a compassionate and highly organized Program Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be in charge of assisting program staff with retreat planning and administrative tasks. He or she will develop positive working relationships with all stakeholders. We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule who can be available 20 hrs. per week and nights and weekends as needed for events.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide administrative and logistical support with support for projects, initiatives, and programs (filing, emailing, data entry, mailing, phone, etc.)
Relay stakeholder concerns or information to the appropriate senior staff member
Review and submit documentation and follow up with stakeholders as needed.
Schedule and organize trainings and special events
Maintain accurate data base records and add new info as it becomes available
Assist in the retreat planning and implementation process as directed by Retreat Programs Director
Some college experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years administrative experience (Associate degree acceptable alternative)
Excellent typing and accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Polished written and verbal communication skills
Passion and Desire to make a difference
Little Pink Houses of Hope is seeking an intern with a strong knowledge and understanding of accounting and financial reporting. To be considered for this position, applicants must also possess strong critical thinking skills, be able to work within a team environment, and be interested in non-profit management, fundraising, and special event planning.
Assist with daily and month-end financial reports
Help with accounts receivable, payable, and bank statement reconciliation
Support matters of legal compliance
Assist with special fundraising/development projects
Provide data entry for donations received
Maintain updated donor information
Communicate with major donors
Cultivate stewardship of donors
Assist with special events planning
Maintain office supplies
Assist with shipping and mailing tasks
Answer phones and greet public when needed
Applicants should be in their Junior year as a Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Hospitality and Tourism major with at least a 3.0 gpa and proficiency in Microsoft applications. QuickBooks and the Adobe Creative Cloud experience is a plus. Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and excellent communication and writing skills are essential for this position.
Must be able to work at least 20 hrs/week with a commitment of at least three days/week in the office with an assigned supervisor.
Public Relations/Social Media Intern
Little Pink Houses of Hope is seeking an intern with a strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites, as we launch a large social media and marketing campaign. The intern hired for this position will need strong critical thinking skills, be able to work within a team environment, and be interested in non-profit management and special event planning.
Contribute to website projects including calendar updates
Assist with monitoring and posting on blogs, forums, and social networks
Provide online outreach and promotion using Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and more
Contact news and other print media, write press releases
Assist in design of communication and marketing materials
Help create retreat week materials
Provide retreat-related reports
Support shipping and mailing tasks for retreat programming
Write letters for in-kind donations
Assist with special event planning
Answer phones and greet guests when needed
Students applying for this internship should be in their Junior year as a Marketing/Business, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or Hospitality and Tourism major with at least a 3.0 gpa and a solid understanding of social media formats. Strong communication and writing skills are required. Must demonstrate creativity and understand the importance of time management. Proficiency with Microsoft applications and the Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus. Must be able to work at least 20 hrs/week with a commitment of at least three days/week in the office with an assigned supervisor.
