Lori is from Wisconsin, where she serves as a Continuous Improvement Manager with a local health system. Her journey with Little Pink Houses of Hope began as a VolunStar at a retreat in Hatteras. From the moment she arrived, Lori felt a profound connection to the mission of the organization and knew she wanted to dedicate her time to supporting fellow breast cancer thrivers and their families. Lori is passionate about providing families with a rejuvenating getaway and witnessing families connect not only within their own units but also with others facing similar challenges fills her heart and soul, giving deep purpose to her own cancer journey.

Telluride and Mountain Village, CO are nestled at the end of a lush canyon and surrounded by some of Colorado’s most rugged peaks. Nowhere else in the country, or perhaps the world, does such a place exist. it is the most beautiful spot of the Rocky Mountain high country. Telluride is tucked into a box canyon surrounded by 13,000 and 14,000-foot peaks. The town is just eight blocks wide and twelve blocks long. Because of its significant role in the history of the American West, the core area of Telluride was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1964. Telluride is connected to Mountain Village by a free Gondola.

This retreat is a VERY High altitude that participants should take into consideration when applying if prone to altitude sickness. Also, to go between activities, participants will be using the FREE Gondola system, so participants afraid of heights should consider this when selecting this as a retreat destination.

LPHOH gave me the reset that I needed and the confidence to try new things and the ability to share this journey with others.

How to Get Involved

I live close to the retreat location and want to get involved

Join our local planning group called Team Pink. From getting involved with helping plan the retreat, providing gifts for families, securing activities and meals or using your special talents, Team Pink has a place for you. Fill out the volunteer application to get involved.

I want to support the retreat with an in kind donation

The primary donations needed for a retreat week include:

Grocery Gift Cards
Gifts for families
Special location-specific items for welcome bags
Paper Goods- plates, napkins, plastic cutlery, paper towels, toilet paper
Sponsor a family for the week ($1008) by making a general donation
Sponsor an activity or meal ($250) by making a general donation

The community is the key ingredient to the success of every Little Pink Retreat week! Ways for your group to get involved:

Adopt a retreat. This is an easy way for a small group to make a BIG impact! Adopt a Retreat Information
Provide a meal for the families and if possible have your group serve the meal! This is a great way to get to know the families and see the difference that you are making first hand.
Conduct a gift card drive for local grocery store
Collect paper Goods- plates, napkins, plastic cutlery, paper towels, toilet paper
Provide welcome bags for each family
Conduct an office fundraiser
