Gala Safety Requirement 2021

Little Pink Responds to the Covid 19 Outbreak

Today, we are facing an unprecedented challenge: the spread of the COVID 19 virus and its impact on already vulnerable cancer communities.

Little Pink has announced that it will be requiring proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of our Gala Event on October 9, 2021, for entry into the event.

“The good news is that our message is simple; let’s all come together safely so that we can have a live event this fall.  We are joining with the nation’s largest owners and operators of performance venues (like DPAC and the Tanger Center) who all are implementing these same requirements,” said Jeanine Patten-Coble, Little Pink Founder and President. “We’re confident this is the best path forward for our guests plus all of the valued staff and volunteers of Little Pink.”

The decision comes on the heels of the rise in COVID-19 cases as the Delta variant’s impact is felt throughout North Carolina. As stated in one of Governor Cooper’s most recent Executive Orders, being vaccinated is key as more than ninety-four percent (94%) of recent North Carolina cases are in people who are not fully vaccinated and being vaccinated greatly reduces the risk that anyone who does contract the Delta variant becomes severely ill or requires hospitalization.

For the Gala Event on October 9, 2021 , Little Pink will also be requiring face covers to be worn.  ALL guests and volunteers for the event will be gifted a black face covering with the Little Pink logo!

Vaccination or COVID-19 Test Requirements

Vaccination

  • Guests should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least two weeks after final dose) AND provide proof of vaccination – either the original vaccination card, a printed copy of the vaccination card, or a digital copy of such card, prior to entry for the event

How do I show proof of vaccination when I arrive for my event?

  • At entry, Little Pink staff and volunteers will validate your proof of vaccination.
  • Acceptable documentation may be the original vaccination card, a printed copy of the vaccination card, or a digital copy of such card.

What if I lost my vaccination card?

  • Check with your vaccination provider; however, a photo of your immunization card or copy of the card is also accepted.

What if I forget my proof of vaccination?

  • Proof of vaccination or PRINTED proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test taken within 72-hours prior of the event date are required.

I have received my first COVID-19 vaccination dose, will my first dose vaccination card be accepted at entry?

  • Proof of full vaccination requires the last vaccination dose to be administered at least two weeks prior to the event date.
  • If your dose is from a vaccine series that requires two doses, full vaccination status requirement would be met only 14 days after the second dose.
  • For those guests who have only received the first of two doses, PRINTED proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test taken within 72-hours of the event date is required.

I’ve had Covid. Do I still need to be tested or obtain a vaccine?

  • Proof of vaccination or PRINTED proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test taken within 72-hours of the event date are always required.

Negative COVID-19 Test Result

  • Unvaccinated guests must have received a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test within 72-hours of the event date AND provide PRINTED proof of a negative result prior to entry for the event.

How do I show proof of a negative test result when I arrive for my event?

  • At entry, Little Pink staff and volunteers will validate your proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test.
  • Guests will be asked to provide PRINTED proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test (PCR or antigen) taken within 72-hours of the event date.
  • Please make sure this PRINTED test result clearly lists your name, date-of-test and test result.

I am ineligible to be vaccinated or have made the personal choice not to be vaccinated, am I unable to attend an event requiring vaccination?

  • It makes no difference to Little Pink why someone has not been vaccinated (personal choice, advice from a medical professional, age, deeply held religious belief or any other reason).
  • Unvaccinated guests will simply be asked to provide PRINTED proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test taken within 72-hours of the event date.

If I am unvaccinated, do you require a specific type of COVID-19 diagnostic test?

  • ONLY PCR COVID-19 tests (sometimes referred to as a molecular test) or Antigen COVID-19 tests will be accepted – please be sure to bring PRINTED proof of your negative test result.
  • Testing is free, easy and fast at hundreds of locations throughout North Carolina.
  • To find a testing site near you, please visit: Test Site Finder

How close to the event date should I take a COVID-19 diagnostic test?

  • Your COVID-19 diagnostic test should be taken within 72-hours of the event date.
  • Our event is on Saturday so your test should be taken no earlier than the Wednesday prior.

I’ve had Covid. Do I still need to be tested or obtain a vaccine?

  • Proof of vaccination or PRINTED proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test taken within 72-hours of the event date are always required.
