Fun in the sun

Retreats

Our families were so excited to get out on the pedal boats, donated by Duke and Tracy at Wheelfun Rentals. People took out kayaks as well as the pedal boats. One of the participants even challenged a VolunSTAR to a race in a kayak around the lake. The families really seemed to enjoy the afternoon on the lake, what a beautiful day we had for this activity.

Jaime Aiken and Danny Swinson donated lunch at the Lazy Pirate Restaurant, they had the entire outside deck, volleyball court, and corn hole area cleared for our event. Everyone enjoyed a nice time playing together and sharing conversations with each other.

Kate Weiss and Bob Campbell donated dinner for us this evening, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the company of one another, and families are really connected now and want to be together. After dinner we walked down to Squigley’s Ice Cream Shoppe.  Ann and her husband opened up especially for our families to come and enjoy a nice ice cream sundae for dessert.

Today was an amazing day.
