Memphis, TN: The journey

Tour of Hope

I have had a chance to travel across the country over the course of the past 2 months and have seen many amazing people, beautiful landscapes, and awe inspiring moments.  I have been looking forward to tonight for a long time.  Trinity Baptist Church invited me to speak to their congregation and I could sense that this too was a piece of the journey for me.
I have had a lot of time in the car during the drive to think, pray, meditate and reflect on the journey.  I told someone before I left that I knew where I was going (literally), but not quite sure where I was being led.  What I have found on this journey is an opportunity not only to share the mission and vision of Little Pink, but quiet moments to share my faith.  Tonight, I was put on stage to “go deep”.  I spent the afternoon actually writing about my faith when I was growing up.  What it gave me, what it lacked, how I was searching, but not knowing exactly what it was I was looking for.  Knowing what God has called me to do is one of the greatest blessings in my life.  And tonight, I got to share my beliefs about being pursued by God’s love.  The times in my life when I turned and walked away from that pursuit and the acceptance of his love.  The congregation was full of love and support and I cannot even begin to explain how important they were for me tonight.   From the very beginning, I have been on a journey of accepting God’s loving embrace.  Thanks to Trinity Baptist Church for becoming a part of the journey!
Thanks to Richard Hipps and his wife for the warm welcome!
