Friday Family Spotlight: The Silverman's North Carolina Adventure

Family Spotlight

Cathy Silverman
2017 Participant/Breast Cancer Survivor
April Carolina Beach, NC
This past April my family was picked to go to Carolina Beach for a wonderful retreat! Once I was informed I was so excited, I couldn’t wait to have all the information on the vacation. From the moment I talked to my amazing Volunstar, Rozz, I knew we were in good hands. All the Volunstars were so much fun! We drove to the retreat from NH. When we arrived my family was greeted extremely warmly by Kate Weiss. Rozz then took us over to our beautiful condo. The girls even got their own rooms! Rozz then showed us all the snacks and food that had been provided for us. If that wasn’t enough people had donated beautiful towels and beach gear for us. That night we had a nice spaghetti dinner provided by the fire dept. It was then that we got to meet the other families. Everyone was terrific. After dinner, Stacy told us about what was planned for the week. We were also told that the only times that we had to be at dinner was this night and the last night. During the week we got to fish off a really long pier, ride bikes, and paddle board. Every night we had a fantastic meal donated by an area restaurant or family. My favorite night was the night we went to the aquarium. We got to touch mana rays and other sea animals. My family loved the other families. I made many new friends that are now very dear to me. This vacation has been one of my families favorites. It was nice to just be able to feel like a normal family again. I will never be able to thank Little Pink enough for this incredible vacation. I love you guys! Xox
