Friday Family Spotlight: Regroup, Refocus, Renew & Re-energize

Family Spotlight

Katie Edick
2017 Participant/Breast Cancer Survivor
October Myrtle Beach, SC
Being a part off Little Pink allowed me time to slow down and enjoy my family. We needed time as a family to re energize. I was very intentional with making sure I was caught up at work so I did not have anything to focus on but my family. I was able to catch up on my sleep and create amazing memories with really neat experiences. Some of our experiences were a boat trip to Shell Island, Sky wheel and a Mirror Maze. These were some of the super fun activities we enjoyed as a family. There was even a date night for time to reconnect with my husband. And even a time to talk with other breast cancer warriors. There was a true sense of camaraderie as women to come together and support each other. We also met other wonderful families that my family really bonded with and hope to stay in touch with. The volunstars are genuine and truly want to love on us and make sure we are having the best time ever and that the vacation is what we want it to be. Upon returning home the light heartedness and fun has continued. Being able to focus on my family and not have to plan meals, make meals or even plan the activities was just what I needed. This was the most stressful year of my life. To have a moment to breathe and not focus on cancer was so needed. I have stage 4 cancer so this stress is not going to leave our family any time soon. But it gave us a respite and a time to regroup, refocus, renew and re energize for the future. The memories made with my family will last a lifetime and I know that we will look back on this week with such fondness. We have made friends for life. Thank you Little Pink House of Hope.
