Our entire family was impacted by this PINK Retreat!
This is a THANKFUL Grandma Story.
Our daughter, Casey, husband, Matt, and 5 kids were able to attend the NC “Little Pink House of Hope” retreat this APRIL! This is NOT my story to tell, it is Casey’s story, BUT I must say our entire South Dakota family was blessed by this recent retreat.
I am grateful for the volunteer staff, the Carolina Beach Community that shared MEALS, GOLF CART RIDES, and a shout out to the several local churches and businesses that shared and contributed.
The location of CAROLINA BEACH was NEW to us all! The grands took their first airplane ride.
Our TOP 10 List
1) THE OCEAN! They LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the beach! We do NOT have an ocean in the midwest!
2) Seashells— I don’t care how old or young you are— collecting seashells is the BEST! (We hauled many back!)
3) The Meals—- I never expected all of the meals to be provided, and something DIFFERENT each time! THANK YOU!
4) The Daily EVENTS! Paddle boarding, Fishing, Golf Cart Rides, Squigley’s Ice Cream, JEEP rides at sunset on a beach!
5) The first night at the FIRE STATION! The 5 & 2 year old LOVED THIS SO MUCH!
6) The Beach Home we stayed at! We truly felt like Kings & Queens for the week!
7) The Sunset Cruise— the kiddos were talking about DANCING ON A BOAT again last night! What an impression that made!
8) The STAFF that made us feel welcome- seen, and LOVED! (You know who you are)
9) The ice breaker games- that helped us meet LONG TIME “PINK” friends! Ashley–the KIDS LOVED the shaving creme beach tag, and shaving creme cheese balls game! Also- we LOVED that you took the time to dig a HEART in the sand- and did family photos! SO SO SO cool.
10) Mostly, we felt LOVED the entire visit! This was a once in a lifetime trip. I’m giving thanks with a grateful heart!
Wait- there is a NUMBER 11…
11) The Arcade Day! We hauled 4 XL green aliens back to SD from the ARCADE! Grandpa Ron deflated them with a straw! They made it safely to SD!
I witnessed 5 kids, (2, 5, 6 (almost 7), 9 & 11 RUN TO SEE THE OCEAN for the first time!
Grandma got teary eyed.
THANK YOU!
