2022 Participant/Breast Cancer Survivor
Carolina Beach, NC

Cancer is no fun, but sometimes there are silver linings – The Little Pink Carolina Beach Retreat was one of them! The VolunStars were so good to us. Knowledgable and kind. Also the whole city of Carolina Beach seemed like they wrapped their arms around us and were so hospitable! We felt like we were royalty! I enjoyed the group of women – getting to know others fighting the same battle as me and also having my husband get to meet other husbands who understood – and our daughter meeting other children who knew what it was like to have a mommy who has breast cancer. It was so cool. It was so nice to have all of the FREE meals and activities. It took all stress away during the week we never had to worry about meals or activities costing us money. This trip was an absolute blessing for us. One entire stress-free week of being together, not having to worry about work or doctor appointments. I hope that I can someday volunteer and give back to this program, the experience meant the world to my family and I!
