One of the best parts of watching Little Pink Houses of Hope grow is the opportunity to take advantage of the endless talents of our supporters. We’d like to welcome Thomas, who will be interning for the next few retreats. He’s a veteran when it comes to Little Pink volunteering and will be contributing to the blog and many other aspects of the organization.
Here’s his first blog post, welcome Thomas!
Today the Retreat began! After many hours of travel from many different places the families finally arrived at the First Baptist Church Of Oak Island for check in after a long drive. Then it was off to see their beautiful houses. After everyone got settled into their homes it was time for dinner back at the church. The food was prepared and cooked right in front of us by the Dye family. It was a great time to sit down and chat and begin friendships that will extend far beyond the retreat.
After dinner was over, the parents had a meeting while the kids went to the playground. It was a great bonding experience for everyone involved as we watched the kids swing, slide, and climb all over the place.
We are very excited at what this week will bring to all of the families as they have time to relax, reconnect and spend time with each other as they make new bonds with others on the retreat.
